麻花影院 Continuing Education Offers Classes for Summer
The Division of Continuing Education at the University of Louisiana
      at Monroe will be offering several classes this summer.
      A Pre-Licensing Course for Driving Motor Vehicles will be offered
      June 19, July 10 and 24 and August 7 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 4
      p.m. in room 100 of Stubbs Hall. Cost to attend one of these
      sessions is $25 and payment must be made by the Thursday before
      the class. Birth certificate and picture ID with signature are
      required. Students must be 17 years of age or older. Course will
      include highway regulatory laws, DWI laws, alcohol effects, driver
      responsibility and defensive driving.
      Remodeling the Home will be offered June 19 from 9 a.m. to 4
      p.m. in Strauss 107. Cost of the session is $75 and will be taught
      by Dr. June
      Conway-Bruyninckx. An overview of the remodeling process and
      the decisions which can result in a well-planned project will
      be discussed. David Haynes will be teaching Instant Piano for
      Hopelessly Busy People on June 24 from 6-9:30 p.m. in Biedenharn
      129. Cost is $39 for students and
      $49 for adults plus $25 for book and CD. Students will experience
      the joy of the piano and learn easy chord piano techniques. If
      students can find Middle C and know the meaning of Every Good
      Boy Does Fine, they can learn to play any song, style or key.
      
Introductory Boat Building-Canoes and Pirogues will be offered
      at two different times on Thursdays starting July 8 through August
      12 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. or 6:30-9 p.m. in Bry Hall 112. Cost
      is $60. The entry level class will be taught by Gene Hayes and
      will look at the basic elements of
      boat design, the use of fiberglass reinforced wood as a building
      material, and at least two techniques for building small, light-weight
      that could be
      easily car topped to area waterways. The class will participate
      in the building of a 14-foot pirogue. Private Investigator Training
      will be offered by Henry Bennett July 22-25 from 8 a.m. to 6
      p.m. in room 2-105 of the Administration Building. Cost for the
      four-day session is $300 and will cover such topics as surveillance,
      witness interviews, information gathering and research laws involving
      privacy issues. This course is required for a Louisiana license.
      An eight-hour Private Investigator Recertification session required
      for yearly license renewal will be offered July 24 from 8 a.m.-6
      p.m. in room 2-105 of the Administration Building and will cost
      $80.
