Nationally-Recognized Harpist Elizabeth Richter to Perform with 麻花影院 Flute Associate Professor Sandra Lunte
Nationally recognized harpist Elizabeth Richter will visit
      Monroe to perform two concerts with 麻花影院 flute professor Sandra
      Lunte. A Lecture/Recital is set for Tuesday, September 3, at
      7:00 p.m. at Biedenharn Museum in Monroe. Reservations are encouraged
      due to limited seating, call 387-5281. The duo will discuss their
      collaboration throughout the years. They will also perform parts
      of the program that they will present on September 5. In addition,
      Richter will discuss the harp and how it is played.
       
      A Recital is scheduled for Thursday, September 5, at 7:30 p.m.
      at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe. Both concerts are free and
      open to the public.  
       
       	Ms. Richter is Professor of Harp at Ball State University in
      Muncie, Indiana, where she received the College of Fine Arts
      Dean's Teaching Award. She was formerly principal harpist with
      the Kansas City Philharmonic and Kansas City Lyric Opera and
      served on the faculty at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
      She is an active soloist and chamber musician and has been heard
      across the United States and Europe and on National Public Radio's
      "Performance Today."  She has served as First Vice-President
      of the American Harp Society and is currently on the Board of
      Directors. Richter received a diploma in piano from the Eastman
      School of Music Preparatory Department, continued her musical
      studies at Oberlin College and earned Bachelor and Master of
      Music degrees from Boston University School for the Arts, where
      she studied with Lucile Lawrence.
