Co-edited with Michael A. Brown Sr., the book is a collection of innovative studies
on the methods and applications of comparing online human interactions to face-to-face
interactions. While highlighting topics including digital collaboration, social media,
and privacy, this book is a vital reference source for public administrators, educators,
businesses, academicians, and researchers seeking current research on the importance
                  of communication between people.聽
鈥淚 am excited to be able to work with a great group of researchers to publish this
book on human communication in the digital age,鈥 said Hersey. 鈥淗aving a better understanding
of the connection between people and digital communication will help us create the
best messaging when connecting with those we serve in the public and nonprofit sectors.鈥
In addition to co-editing the book, Hersey contributed with a chapter on government
technology. Written with Gayla Schaefer, MPA, the chapter 鈥淣ew Communication Technology
Integration: Recommendations for Public Sector Change鈥 addresses how governments interact
with their residents through technology. The research identified the elements that
lead to successful integration and the biggest barriers that government employees
                  are facing during the transition.
Hersey is in the College of Business and Social Sciences.
